Job summary

Maximus seeks a Lead Security Engineer to fortify cybersecurity across federal information systems, cloud, and on-prem environments. You will guide security controls, risk-based decisions, and architecture improvements while mentoring junior engineers and coordinating with enterprise teams.

Responsibilities include implementing security solutions, overseeing vulnerability management, and aligning with NIST guidelines. Travel up to 10% and active government clearance eligibility are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience with 7+ years in security engineering.
• Experience with US Federal government security engineering (federal employee or contractor).
• Strong knowledge of NIST 800-53 and NIST 800-171 controls.
• Experience securing CI/CD pipelines and cloud security in AWS/Azure.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance on Information Security solutions and mentorship.
• Lead and contribute to security projects across teams.
• Implement, configure, and maintain information security solutions.
• Coordinate planning and resources across enterprise projects.
• Advise on security controls for cloud, network, and endpoint.
• Support Zero Trust, secure configs, and compliance efforts.
• Review proposals for technical compliance; ISO stakeholder in ER&A.
• Communicate security initiatives to ISO leadership.
