Job summary

Maximus seeks a Lead Security Engineer to support federal information systems, cloud security, and enterprise security controls. You will guide implementations and mentor engineers across AI, Enterprise Architecture, and Business Development teams.

Essential duties include leading security projects, configuring and maintaining security solutions, and coordinating enterprise work across teams. US citizenship and eligibility for a Public Trust clearance are required, with up to 10% travel expected.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of security engineering experience with federal environments.
• Experience with NIST 800-53/800-171 security controls.
• Strong CI/CD security and secure pipeline practices.
• Knowledge of Zero Trust architecture and implementation.

Responsibilities

• Serve as SME on information security solutions across teams.
• Lead or contribute to security projects and provide technical mentorship.
• Implement, configure, and maintain security solutions with best practices.
• Coordinate effort and resources across enterprise projects with leadership.
• Direct execution of program elements based on risk and objectives.
• Advise on security controls across cloud, network, and endpoint environments.
• Perform security assessments, vulnerability analysis, and remediation tracking.
• Advise on SIEM, EDR, firewalls, and vulnerability scanners.
• Collaborate with admins and CI/CD engineers to address risks.
• Develop and maintain security documentation and system security plans.
• Recommend improvements to security posture, compliance, and operations.
• Support Zero Trust, secure config management, and cloud security.
• Review proposals to confirm technical compliance.
• Act as ISO stakeholder in Enterprise Risk and Assurance activities.
• Communicate initiatives and designs to ISO leadership.
