Job summary

Nordstrom is seeking a Maintenance Technician II to lead a facilities team across stores in the Austin area. You will ensure HVAC, electrical and building systems are ready for daily business and supervise break-fix requests with a focus on safety and reliability.

You will mentor junior technicians, maintain CMMS records, coordinate with vendors, and assist the Facility Manager in training and safety initiatives while supporting store leadership and operations.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years hands-on facilities experience with emphasis in mechanical maintenance.
• 5+ years experience performing predictive and preventive maintenance.
• Experience with HVAC, refrigeration, carpentry, plumbing, electrical and mechanical skills for repairs.
• Able to troubleshoot basic input/output functions and low voltage signals.
• Strong communication and ability to work without supervision and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Lead and perform preventive maintenance on critical and non-critical equipment.
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems affecting store operations.
• Operate and monitor building controls and systems.
• Document maintenance procedures and delegate tasks to technicians.
• Coordinate with vendors, parts ordering, and project meetings.
• Maintain CMMS records and inventory; support safety and compliance.
