Qualifications

• Formal arithmetic education including addition and subtraction; proficient in reading, writing and speaking English.
• 12 months training or 12 months experience in maintenance repair (electrical, plumbing, carpentry, masonry; use of hand and power tools).
• Equivalent of minimum qualifications may be substituted for experience, but not for mandated licensure.

Responsibilities

• Lead work over inmates or staff in semi-skilled and skilled maintenance tasks.
• Perform semi-skilled and skilled electrical, plumbing, carpentry repairs.
• Inspect buildings and equipment for needed repairs or replacements.
• Operate machine tools and welding equipment for repairs.
• Respond to emergencies and attend trainings and meetings.
