Job summary

The Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction is hiring a Maintenance Repair Worker 3 in Mansfield, OH, to perform a broad range of semi-skilled and skilled maintenance tasks under supervision. The role includes electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and grounds work, with occasional custodial duties and snow removal, exercising security controls as needed.

Successful candidates will have 12 months of maintenance experience or training, a valid CDL if required, and the ability to lead others

Qualifications

• Arithmetic basics plus reading, writing and speaking common English vocabulary.
• 12 mos. trg. or 12 mos. exp. in maintenance repair (electrical, plumbing, carpentry, masonry) and use of tools.
• Valid commercial driver's license if motor equipment is regulated by state rules; firefighter course may be required for some positions.

Responsibilities

• Leads as a work direction to inmates or staff in semi-skilled and skilled maintenance repair tasks (electrical, carpentry, grounds keeping, plumbing).
• Performs semi-skilled and skilled maintenance repair of equipment (lights, outlets, motors, fixtures, heating/cooling components).
• Performs carpentry repairs (doors, locks, cabinets, floors, walls).
• Performs plumbing repairs (pipes, fixtures, pumps, valves).
• Performs interior custodial duties (mops, sweeps, waxes floors).
• Performs exterior grounds keeping and snow removal.
