Job summary

Southern Ohio Correctional Facility in Lucasville, OH seeks a Facilities Maintenance worker to lead inmate crews and perform semi-skilled repairs in electrical, carpentry, plumbing and grounds. Qualifications

• Formal education in arithmetic and basic English; 12 months training or experience in maintenance repair including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, masonry and use of hand/power tools.
• Valid commercial driver's license if operating motor equipment regulated by state code.
• Substitution allowed with minimum qualifications but not for licensure.

Responsibilities

• Leads as a supervisor, directing inmates or staff in semi-skilled and skilled maintenance work (electrical, carpentry, grounds keeping, plumbing).
• Performs semi-skilled and skilled repairs on equipment and systems, including electrical components, plumbing fixtures, and carpentry repairs.
• Performs interior custodial duties and exterior grounds keeping; removes snow and ice as needed.
• Inspects buildings regularly, conducts preventive maintenance, and operates tool/machinery to make repairs.
• Maintains tool security, conducts counts, and assists in related crafts; manages inmate movement and participates in meetings.
