Placements24 is seeking an Event Catering Chef for a renowned hospitality provider in Welkom. The role leads the culinary team, executing exceptional food experiences for corporate functions and private celebrations, while ensuring top standards of quality, presentation, and safety.

You will manage kitchen operations, mentor junior chefs, and collaborate with management on menu development, costing, and execution strategies to meet client expectations and profitability goals.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Chef or Sous Chef with a strong background in banquets or event catering.
• Strong leadership and team collaboration skills.
• Solid understanding of food safety regulations and kitchen management practices.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and present high-quality dishes for all catered events, adhering to menus and client specifications.
• Manage kitchen operations, including inventory, ordering, food preparation, and maintaining a clean workspace.
• Ensure compliance with all food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards, conducting regular checks and training for kitchen staff.
• Collaborate with catering management on menu development, costing, and execution strategies to meet client expectations and profitability goals.
• Supervise and train junior kitchen staff, fostering a team-oriented environment and ensuring consistency in preparation and presentation.
• Adapt menus and cooking methods for special dietary requirements and last-minute event changes.
