Placements24 is seeking a talented Sous Chef to support the Welkom catering department. You will work closely with the Head Chef to oversee daily kitchen activities, ensure dish quality and consistency, and contribute to menu development for events.

You will lead a fast-paced team, uphold food safety standards, and drive innovation in catering concepts while delivering exceptional meals for a variety of occasions.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Sous Chef or a similar senior role.
• Strong culinary skills and a deep understanding of various cooking techniques.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards (e.g., HACCP).
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Chef in planning, preparing, and executing menus for catering events.
• Supervise and mentor kitchen staff, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to recipes.
• Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency across all dishes.
• Manage inventory, including stock rotation, ordering supplies, and minimizing food waste.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations in the kitchen.
• Contribute to menu innovation and the development of new catering concepts.
