Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Sr. Principal EO Signal Image Processing Engineer to support the Launch Vehicles business unit in Chandler, AZ.

You will lead the development of high-fidelity EO/IR simulations, mentor engineers, and collaborate across disciplines for seeker development and flight test. Responsibilities include designing signal processing algorithms, building physics-based models, and ensuring verification across HPC environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required with 8 years of related experience or advanced degrees with proportional experience.
• Active DoD Secret clearance at time of application and current.
• Experience with video/image processing algorithms and sensor control.
• Experience coordinating and leading teams to deliver EO/IR models and simulations.
• Proficiency in C/C++ and MATLAB or Python.
• Experience developing simulations in HPC environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of high-fidelity seeker simulations and physics-based models for design and flight test.
• Coordinate team efforts to meet program milestones and schedules.
• Design and implement image/signal processing algorithms within the simulation framework.
• Apply EO/IR phenomenology to create realistic models of hardware, scenes and flight environments.
• Develop, maintain, and optimize modeling tools in C/C++, Python and MATLAB for HPC use.
• Support HWIL, lab, and real-time test activities and correlate with flight data.
