Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems in Chandler, Arizona, is seeking an EO Signal Image Processing Engineer to support the Seeker IPT within the Launch Vehicles program. You will contribute to EO/IR modeling, algorithm development, and simulation efforts.

The role requires a DoD Secret clearance, a Bachelor's (or higher) in a related field, and hands-on experience with image or signal processing using C/C++, MATLAB, or Python, in HPC and lab environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field with 2+ years of related experience or MS
• Active DoD Secret clearance at time of application
• Experience with image or signal processing and implementing algorithms in C, C++, MATLAB, or Python
• Understanding EO/IR modeling concepts and hardware validation
• Knowledge of optical systems and EO/IR imaging fundamentals
• Familiarity with HPC simulations

Responsibilities

• Support physics-based EO/IR seeker models for simulations used in performance analysis and test support
• Assist in implementing and testing image/signal processing algorithms within simulation frameworks
• Participate in modeling and algorithm projects to meet program schedules
• Maintain and modify modeling tools in C/C++, Python, and MATLAB in HPC and lab settings
• Collaborate with systems, software, firmware, and hardware teammates to carry out M&S tasks and verification
• Support lab/test activities, compare model predictions with test data, and update models as needed
• Prepare and present technical findings to internal teams and contribute to design/readiness reviews
• Follow coding, documentation, and configuration management standards to drive continuous improvement
