Job summary

RTX is seeking an experienced Electro‑Mechanical Engineer for onsite work in Tucson, AZ. You will lead opto‑mechanical/electro‑mechanical hardware design, analyses, and cross‑functional collaboration across optics, systems, electrical and manufacturing teams.

The role requires a DoD security clearance, strong hands‑on mechanical/electrical aptitude, and the ability to manage schedules and deliverables in a fast‑paced defense environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
• Experience in hardware engineering design and production support.
• Strong analysis across static, dynamic and thermal mechanical domains.
• Proven success delivering high‑performance hardware to spec.
• Ability to troubleshoot and test complex electro‑mechanical issues.
• Experience with DoD programs or complex development efforts.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for opto‑mechanical/electro‑mechanical design.
• Oversee structural/thermal analysis, EM simulations, PI/SI analysis.
• Coordinate with Program Office, Chief Engineer, and suppliers.
• Manage schedules, resources, and cross‑functional teams.
• Lead obsolescence management and supplier onboarding.
• Prepare data packages for ERB/MRB/Change Boards.
• Lead prototyping and IRAD activities.
• Develop environmental qualification test plans.
• Drive root‑cause investigations and corrective actions.
