Job summary

Lake Superior Consulting is seeking an Electrical Power Engineer to join our growing team. You will design, analyze, and upgrade medium- and low-voltage power distribution and generation systems for industrial energy clients, and carry that work from concept through detailed design, procurement, construction, and commissioning.

This role leads the electrical scope on projects, mentors less experienced engineers, and collaborates across disciplines.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited B.S. in electrical engineering.
• Minimum 3 years in electrical power systems engineering.
• Experience with MV (1 kV–38 kV) and LV power distribution.
• Modeling in SKM/ETAP/EasyPower and interpreting results.
• Know NEC/NFPA 70E and applicable IEEE/ANSI standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical scope on moderate to large projects and set technical direction.
• Perform power system analyses including load flow and short-circuit studies.
• Design and document electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and MCCs.
• Develop protective relay settings and coordination for various equipment.
• Review vendor submittals, support procurement, and assist commissioning.
• Mentor junior engineers and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Interface with clients, contractors, and vendors; manage risk and schedule.
