Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems seeks a Sr Principal Electrical Engineer – Vehicle Subsystems & Integration to lead aircraft subsystem development from concept through sustainment. Location options include Palmdale, CA; Oklahoma City, OK; Whiteman AFB, MO; or San Diego, CA.

You will guide hydraulic/electrical architectures and coordinate with suppliers to ensure airworthiness and technical excellence. The role requires a strong SME, extensive cradle-to-grave experience, and the ability to

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in STEM with 8+ years, or Master's with 6+ years, or PhD with 4+ years.
Experience leading system development from concept to sustainment.
Proven project management capabilities.
Experience as SME for an engineering team/project.
Analytical skills with a track record of solving complex problems.
Ability to create and present technical briefings to senior executives.
Ability to obtain/maintain Secret clearance (and SAP clearance).

Responsibilities

Design hydraulic and electrical schematics for aircraft subsystems.
Define requirements for electrical power generation, distribution, and protection.
Lead system trade studies, layout development, and verification.
Coordinate with suppliers during hardware development and procurement.
Develop system-level test plans and verification activities.
Lead multidisciplinary teams and present to senior leadership.
