Job summary

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. seeks a Lead Electrical Engineer to design solar PV systems, coordinating with the Power Division and client teams.

You will lead the electrical engineering efforts, supervise designers, and ensure adherence to firm standards across projects. Responsibilities include engineering design, construction documents, and interfacing with clients and project managers to deliver on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Renewable Engineering program.
• Knowledge of NEC and NESC.
• Proficiency with electrical power system modeling software.
• 4–10 years in electrical distribution, generation, or related design.
• Ability to read and create construction drawings and specs.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
• Strong written and verbal communication with detail.
• Experience writing proposals, managing budgets, invoices and change orders.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design and prepare construction documents for projects.
• Coordinate with civil, geotechnical/structural engineers, and surveyors.
• Ensure project electrical design budgets and schedules are met.
• Respond to RFPs by preparing proposal scope and fees.
• Coordinate with clients, utilities, and code officials.
• Oversee staff performing electrical calculations and studies.
