Job summary

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. seeks a Lead Electrical Engineer to design solar PV systems, including plant layout and interconnection requirements. You will lead the electrical engineering on projects, set standards, coordinate with service leaders, and oversee other electrical designers.

The role includes supervision, budgeting, and responding to RFPs with scope and fees. A BS in Electrical or Renewable Engineering and PV design experience are preferred; NABCEP or PE licenses are a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Renewable Engineering program.
• Knowledge of NEC and NESC.
• Experience with electrical power system modeling tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design for commercial and utility-scale PV projects and manage the electrical design budget.
• Coordinate with other disciplines and with clients to ensure design integrity and timely delivery.
• Prepare proposals, scopes, and fees for electrical engineering work on RFPs.
• Supervise and mentor staff; oversee calculations and studies (short circuit, load flow, voltage drop).
• Ensure QA/QC of design work and maintain awareness of equipment and industry best practices.
