Job summary

Estes Express Lines in Albany, GA, seeks an experienced operations supervisor to lead dock staff and ensure a safe, efficient LTL operation. You will set targets, coach teams, and manage scheduling and paperwork in collaboration with management.

The role requires strong leadership, planning, and communication skills, with 50-hour weeks and flexibility for night/weekend shifts in a high-volume environment. Prior LTL management experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; Bachelor degree preferred.
• Thorough understanding of LTL trucking industry, including paperwork flow.
• Prior management, dispatch and dock experience in LTL trucking.
• Must know local metropolitan area.
• Strong leadership: hire, coach, mentor, terminate employees.
• Team-building and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; planning and organization.
• Computer skills: AS/400 & MS Office.
• Willing to work 50 hours/week and various shifts.
• Ability to read, interpret, and comply with safety rules and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Lead, guide and direct dock employees; set targets and monitor performance.
• Ensure efficient, safe LTL operation; dock planning and scheduling.
• Enforce company policies, safety rules, and regulations.
• Participate in hiring and termination processes.
• Administer portions of the Service Center Business plan.
• Meet all KPI targets and utilize company tools.
• Coordinate equipment movement with supervisors/management.
• Communicate with customers by phone, fax, or email.
• Oversee dock paperwork accuracy and timeliness.
• Regular attendance required.
