Job summary

GFL Environmental, Inc is seeking an experienced senior Lead Diesel / CNG Mechanic to oversee the diagnosis, maintenance, and repair of our commercial truck fleet. You will lead complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical troubleshooting on Diesel and CNG vehicles, conduct mandatory DOT and brake inspections, coordinate repair schedules, and mentor Level B and C technicians.

The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of heavy-duty fleet maintenance experience, holds a Brake Safety Certificate and EPA

Qualifications

5+ years of heavy-duty fleet maintenance experience.
Brake safety certificate and EPA 609 A/C certification required.
Ability to read and interpret detailed schematics and manuals.
CDL Class A or B preferred or willingness to obtain within 6 months.

Responsibilities

Diagnose and repair Diesel and CNG powered trucks (engines, hydraulics, electrical, propane systems).
Lead brake and engine component inspections to ensure safe operation.
Mentor Level B and C technicians.
Prioritize repairs to maximize efficiency and complete work orders on time.
Coordinate repair schedules and review mechanical write-ups.
Perform DOT and brake inspections on all vehicles.
Complete reports, parts orders, and daily administrative duties.
Maintain safe working conditions and regulatory compliance.
