Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. is seeking a Diesel/CNG Fleet Technician to diagnose, repair and maintain our diesel and CNG fleet under supervision of maintenance leadership and senior mechanics.

The role includes brake and engine inspections, electrical and hydraulic repairs, and required DOT brake inspections. Strong communication, adherence to safety regulations, and experience with diagnostic software are essential; Class A/B CDL and ASE certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of DOT, OSHA and related regulations.
• Ability to communicate across organization levels and with customers/vendors.
• Ability to read and interpret safety/maintenance manuals and procedures.
• Experience with diagnostic software is preferred; computer literate and trainable in software systems.
• Willingness to obtain CDL within six months if not currently licensed.
• ASE certifications preferred.
• 3+ years of diesel/CNG maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair and maintain Diesel and CNG fleet.
• Perform basic inspections of brake, engine, emission, steering and wheel systems.
• Test drive trucks to diagnose malfunctions.
• Perform DOT and brake inspections on all vehicles.
• Complete reports and work orders; order parts as needed.
• Maintain safe working conditions and compliance with safety regulations.
