Job summary

Dow Inc. is hiring a Database Service Manager to architect and lead database platform solutions across on-premise, cloud, and hybrid environments. You will partner with IT leaders, ensure high availability, DR readiness, and efficient operations while managing licensing and audits.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in a related role, strong SQL Server/Oracle skills, and experience with Azure cloud technologies. U.S. work authorization is required. Relocation support is not provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or relevant military experience at or above U.S. E5 ranking or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class or Sergeant or 8 years of experience in lieu of a bachelors degree.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in a closely related field.
• U.S. work authorization with no visa sponsorship available for this position.

Responsibilities

• Architect, and lead database platform solutions for Dow.
• Research, analyze and implement RDBMS and other database technologies for on-premise, cloud, and hybrid environments.
• Collaborate with Database IT Leader and Enterprise Architecture to develop and maintain a database technologies roadmap.
• Design and implement backup/recovery, high availability, disaster recovery, and related operational tasks.
• Partner with Database Managed Services to ensure timely and efficient delivery of solutions.
• Ensure change, incident, and problem management are handled per SLAs.
• Coordinate with Cloud and On-prem platforms, Developers, Network, Security to meet Dow standards at lowest TCO.
• Maintain Dow’s database inventory and licensing needs; support audits.
• Assist IT Leadership in evaluating new solutions and vendor proposals; use AI/tools to automate database activities with proper security and performance.
