CVS Health seeks a Principal Engineer, Data Platforms to serve as the senior technical authority for the architecture, governance and evolution of the Unified Ingestion Platform and Federated Data Lake, enabling enterprise observability, security and operational telemetry data across the organization.

This role leads the Databricks platform strategy across multi-cloud environments, drives IaC/Policy-as-Code adoption, and guides complex transformation initiatives to consolidate fragmented

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience architecting, building, and operating enterprise-scale cloud data platforms.
• 8+ years of experience designing and administering Databricks platforms, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog.
• 8+ years of experience implementing Infrastructure-as-Code, CI/CD pipelines, and Policy-as-Code controls with Terraform, GitHub Actions, or similar tools.
• 7+ years designing and operating high-scale streaming/telemetry ingestion architectures (Kafka, Kinesis, etc.).
• 5+ years in a Principal Engineer/Lead Architect role driving multi-cloud strategy and governance.

Responsibilities

• Define and own architecture, strategy, and multi-year roadmap for the Unified Ingestion Platform and Federated Data Lake.
• Architect and scale ingestion and processing for 250+ TB per day across logs, metrics, traces, and security events.
• Govern Databricks architecture, multi-cloud accounts, workspace strategies, and secure access models.
• Lead IaC, Policy-as-Code, automated provisioning, and enterprise CI/CD pipelines.
• Define security, governance, observability, reliability practices aligning with OTEL, OCSF, and compliance.
