Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Principal Engineer, Data Platforms to lead the architecture and governance of the Unified Ingestion Platform and Federated Data Lake, enabling observability, security, and telemetry data across the enterprise.

You will own the Databricks strategy across multi-cloud environments, drive IaC/Policy-as-Code adoption, and partner with security, engineering, and business teams to deliver a scalable, compliant data platform supporting AI/ML workloads.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience architecting and operating enterprise-scale cloud data platforms.
• 8+ years of experience with Databricks including Spark, Delta Lake and Unity Catalog.
• 8+ years of experience with Infrastructure-as-Code and CI/CD automation (Terraform, GitHub Actions, etc.).
• 7+ years of experience in high-scale streaming/telemetry ingestion architectures (>100 TB/day).
• 5+ years in Principal Engineer or Lead Architect roles driving multi-cloud strategy across Azure, AWS, and GCP.

Responsibilities

• Define and own architecture and multi-year roadmap for ingestion platform and data lake for observability, security and telemetry data.
• Scale ingestion and processing for 250+ TB per day across logs, metrics, traces, and security events.
• Govern Databricks architecture, multi-cloud accounts, workspace design, metadata and governance.
• Lead IaC and policy-as-code adoption; implement automated provisioning and CI/CD pipelines.
• Establish security, governance, observability and reliability practices aligned with OTEL, OCSF and compliance.
