Job summary

Ericsson Inc. in Columbus, Ohio, is seeking a Lead Data Center Technician to oversee installation, maintenance, and operation of optical transport and infrastructure in customer data centers.

You will act as the interface between customers and Ericsson’s vendors, ensuring quality and timely execution across installations, migrations, and remote hands services. The role requires hands-on expertise in fiber optics, data center operations, and team leadership, with strong communication skills for

Qualifications

• 3–15 years of data center operations with direct customer interaction.
• Strong hands-on experience with connectorized fiber optic cabling (single-mode/multi-mode).
• Proven experience leading a team and coordinating activities.
• Excellent written and verbal English for customer communications.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily audits of work at customer data centers and provide feedback.
• Interact with customers via ticketing tools or in person with clear reports.
• Assist with fiber installation, decommissioning, break/fix, remediation and migrations.
• Conduct optical testing and troubleshooting using standard test equipment.
• Deliver services by following MoPs, engineering docs, vendor docs and diagrams.
