Job summary

Summit is seeking an experienced cook supervisor to lead a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen at the Daviess County Jail. You will coordinate and supervise staff, ensure meal service starts on time, and maintain standards for portion, appearance and temperature of all items.

The role emphasizes hands-on training, strong culinary knowledge, and ability to manage multiple tasks while delivering high quality service in a correctional setting.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of culinary experience in a high-volume scratch cooking environment.
• Complete knowledge of proper culinary methods, techniques and standards.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting.
• Experience supervising a team.

Responsibilities

• Instructing and training employees in all aspects of food service and sanitation, ensuring meal services begin on time, and ensuring that portion, appearance and temperature for all food items is appropriate and of high quality.
