Job summary

Talbott Hotel is seeking a Cook II under Evolution Hospitality in Chicago. You will oversee and prepare dishes for multiple outlets including restaurant, café, room service, employee cafeteria and banquets.

The role emphasizes leadership, quality, and culinary flair in a fast-paced hotel setting. Ideal candidates have 5+ years in progressive kitchen roles or a culinary degree with some hotel experience, plus a valid Food Handlers Certification.

Qualifications

• Previous supervisory responsibility preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive kitchen experience or a culinary graduate with at least 1 year in a hotel or related field.
• Food Handlers Certification required and state requirements compliant.
• Able to work effectively under pressure with strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and supervise food items with precision, ensuring every dish meets high standards of quality, portioning, and presentation.
• Lead and assist kitchen staff to maintain efficient operations and consistently deliver high‑quality food and service.
• Anticipate challenges and resolve issues proactively to keep kitchen operations running smoothly.
• Share information effectively and address concerns from coworkers and guests with professionalism.
• Keep the kitchen spotless and well‑organized, meeting sanitation and safety standards.
