Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Technical training in shop math, blueprint reading and GDT.
• Minimum of 10 years of trade school apprenticeship or equivalent shop experience as a machinist.

Responsibilities

• Reviews drawings, sketches and specifications to perform various machining operations.
• Sets up machines to obtain close tolerances, fits and aligns machined parts.
• Performs first-piece inspections and ongoing inspections using precision measuring devices.
• Documents time, counts and requisitions for each job; maintains records.
• Fabricates jigs, fixtures or non-production devices as required.
• Acquires materials, supplies and tools when needed; maintains a clean, safe work area.
• Conducts routine maintenance and trouble-shoots machine/tooling issues.
• Provides training and leadership to others; ensures quality procedures are followed.
