Dover Precision Components in Houston, TX is seeking a fully seasoned CNC Machinist to operate two, three or more CNC lathes and mills. The candidate will perform complex machining to tight tolerances, set up machines, inspect first pieces, and maintain detailed records.

Strong GD&T knowledge and a track record of process improvements are essential. The role requires a high school diploma, advanced shop math and blueprint reading skills, and at least 10 years of machinist experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Technical training in shop math, blueprint reading and GDT.
• Minimum of 10 years of trade school apprenticeship or equivalent shop experience as a machinist.

Responsabilités

• Works from drawings, sketches and specifications to complete machining operations.
• Performs machine set ups to obtain close tolerances, fitting and alignment of parts.
• Obtains inspections on first pieces and on in-progress work using measuring devices.
• Maintains records of time, counts, inspections and requisitions for each job.
• Makes jigs, fixtures or specialized non-production devices as assigned.
• Prepares raw material, supplies and tools as needed.
• Keeps work area clean and safe; adheres to quality standards.
• Performs first piece inspections for other machinists as assigned.
• Grinds tools as necessary and performs preventative maintenance.
• Troubleshoots drawings, tooling, programming and materials; makes decisions.
• Uses GD&T on prints and provides feedback for process improvements.
• Independently programs machines and monitors shop equipment.
