Job summary

Dover Precision Components, based in Houston, TX, is seeking a skilled machinist to set up and operate lapping and grinding machines and related tooling. The candidate will work from drawings to achieve precise tolerances and maintain detailed job records.

Responsibilities include inspecting first pieces, maintaining a clean work area, and assisting with training of junior machinists as needed. Strong reading of blueprints and GD&T is essential for success.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and interpret drawings and blueprints.
• Experience with setting up and operating machining equipment.
• Ability to inspect first articles and in-process parts to tolerance.

Responsibilities

• Works from drawings and specifications to perform various machining operations.
• Performs machine set-ups to achieve close tolerances and proper fit/alignment.
• Obtains required inspections and records time and part counts for each job.
• Maintains clean, safe, and orderly work area per 5S and quality standards.
• Trains/mentors lower-level machinists as needed.
