Job summary

Qualus is seeking a Lead Civil Structural Engineer to design and detail mat and pier type foundations for substations, and to create substation structures ranging from equipment supports to overhead towers. The role emphasizes quality, project costs, and client standards across multiple U.S.

locations. The ideal candidate holds a PE license, 6+ years of civil/structural experience, and proficiency with AutoCAD and MicroStation.

Qualifications

• Requires a B.S. or M.S. in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• 6+ years of civil/structural engineering calculations experience.
• Proficiency with drafting software (AutoCAD and/or MicroStation) is preferred.
• Active PE license is required; experience in power/utility projects is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead concept and detail design for substation structures and foundations.
• Develop steel structures models for rigid bus and equipment supports.
• Ensure QA/QC processes are followed per company standards.
• Coordinate with other disciplines and participate in client meetings and site visits.
