Job summary

Qualus is seeking a Lead Civil Structural Engineer to design and detail mat and pier type foundations for substations, and to design substation structures from equipment supports to overhead towers. The role emphasizes quality and cost control in line with client standards and internal QA/QC practices. The position may be based in multiple U.S.

locations and offers remote work options. PE license and 6+ years of civil structural experience are required, with strong software and analytical skills

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Civil Engineering degree required.
• 6+ years of civil structural engineering experience.
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Experience with transmission, distribution or generating stations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop overall conceptual design plans for new projects.
• Design foundations and steel structures for substations.
• Perform QA/QC processes per company standards.
• Coordinate with external partners; attend client meetings/site visits.
• Mentor junior staff and coordinate with other engineering disciplines.
