Job summary

Qualus is seeking a Lead Civil Structural Engineer in the United States for substations. You will design mat and pier foundations and equipment supports, plus substation structures from simple to complex towers. You’ll ensure quality and control costs per client standards and internal QA/QC practices.

You will mentor staff, coordinate across disciplines and engage in client meetings, site visits, and design reviews. PE licensed engineers with ABET degrees are preferred.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited civil engineering degree.
• PE license and civil structural background.
• Experience with transmission, distribution or generating stations is a plus.
• Strong analytical and computer skills for design work.

Responsibilities

• Develop conceptual design plans for new projects.
• Design foundations and steel structures for subsystems.
• Apply codes and client standards to layouts and details.
• Mentor staff and coordinate with other disciplines.
• Participate in client meetings and site visits.
• Perform QA/QC processes and ensure quality control.
• Interact with external partners and respond to inquiries.
• Maintain cost awareness and project documentation.
