Job summary

Qualus is seeking a Lead Civil Structural Engineer to design mat and pier foundations for substations and a range of substation structures. The role involves applying codes, developing layouts, and ensuring quality and cost control in line with client standards.

The candidate will also mentor staff, coordinate with other disciplines, and participate in client meetings while maintaining strong relationships with partners and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited BS or MS in Civil Engineering.
• PE license in good standing.
• 6+ years in civil structural engineering calculations.
• Experience with transmission, distribution or generating stations is a plus.
• Proficient with drafting software (AutoCAD, MicroStation).

Responsibilities

• Develop conceptual designs for new projects in civil structural scope.
• Design mat and pier foundations for substations and substation structures.
• Create steel structure models for rigid bus and equipment supports.
• Apply codes and client standards to layouts and foundation plans.
• Lead QA/QC processes and mentor junior staff.
• Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and participate in client meetings.
