Job summary

Pickett, an ESP Associates company, is seeking a Lead Engineer to support our Civil Department in land development and civil engineering for electrical substations and transmission line ROW. You will help grow our Civil team across regional offices.

Responsibilities include oversight of substation civil design, permitting, site layout, grading, stormwater, and coordination with clients and stakeholders. A PE and 10+ years of experience are required.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s in Engineering is required.
PE certification is required.
10+ years of related engineering experience, whether through consulting or working for an electric utility, is required.
Experience in civil design for substations and transmission projects is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

Oversee electrical substation civil design including permitting support, site layout, grading design, retaining wall design, stormwater analysis, containment structure design, survey coordination, and civil construction support.
Review civil construction specifications, cost estimates, engineering proposals, and project schedules.
Provide support for transmission line ROW access improvement design including culvert sizing, stormwater drainage analysis, stabilization specification, construction support, and inspection.
Assist with analyzing the design for civil elements related to high-voltage power transmission and substation design.
Collaborate with clients, vendors, permitting agencies, and team members to see projects through to completion.
