Job summary

Pickett, an ESP Associates company, is seeking a Civil/Structural Engineer to lead the structural design and analysis of substation and transmission systems. The role requires a PE license, a bachelor's degree, and at least four years of relevant experience.

You will use PLS-TOWER, PLS-POLE, STAAD, and RISA for modeling, and will design foundations with LPILE, MFAD, HFAD, TFAD, collaborating across civil, electrical, and geotechnical teams while supporting field inspections and proposals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering is required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in substation/transmission structural engineering.
• Experience with lattice towers, monopoles, wood poles, or specialty structures.
• Proficiency with structural analysis software and foundation design tools.

Responsibilities

• Structural design and analysis of substation structures and dead-end components.
• Structural design of transmission structures including towers and poles.
• Evaluate and retrofit existing lattice towers and develop reinforcement solutions.
• Prepare calculations, drawings, and specs per ASCE/AISC/ACI/IEEE/NESC.
• Modeling with PLS-TOWER, PLS-POLE, STAAD, and RISA; foundation design with LPILE/MFAD/HFAD/TFAD.
• Field support, site visits, and coordination with fabrication/construction teams.
• Collaborate with civil, electrical, and geotechnical engineers for integrated designs.
• Review vendor calculations, contribute to proposals and engineering deliverables.
