Job summary

Pickett, an ESP Associates company, is seeking a Civil/Structural Engineer to lead the structural design and analysis of substation and transmission systems. The role requires a PE license, a bachelor's degree, and at least four years of relevant experience.

You will use PLS-TOWER, PLS-POLE, STAAD, and RISA for modeling, and will design foundations with LPILE, MFAD, HFAD, TFAD, collaborating across civil, electrical, and geotechnical teams while supporting field inspections and proposals.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering is required.
Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
Minimum 4 years of experience in substation/transmission structural engineering.
Experience with lattice towers, monopoles, wood poles, or specialty structures.
Proficiency with structural analysis software and foundation design tools.

Responsibilities

Structural design and analysis of substation structures and dead-end components.
Structural design of transmission structures including towers and poles.
Evaluate and retrofit existing lattice towers and develop reinforcement solutions.
Prepare calculations, drawings, and specs per ASCE/AISC/ACI/IEEE/NESC.
Modeling with PLS-TOWER, PLS-POLE, STAAD, and RISA; foundation design with LPILE/MFAD/HFAD/TFAD.
Field support, site visits, and coordination with fabrication/construction teams.
Collaborate with civil, electrical, and geotechnical engineers for integrated designs.
Review vendor calculations, contribute to proposals and engineering deliverables.
