Pickett, an ESP Associates company, seeks a Civil/Structural Engineer to lead the structural design and analysis of substation and transmission systems. You will handle dead-end structures, lattice towers, and foundation design, with coordination across civil, electrical, and geotechnical teams.

The role requires a PE license and 4+ years of relevant experience, with proficiency in PLS-TOWER, STAAD, RISA, and foundation software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering is required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
• Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in substation and/or transmission structural engineering.
• Experience with lattice towers, monopoles, wood poles, and specialty structures.
• Experience analyzing and retrofit design of lattice towers.

Responsibilities

• Structural design and analysis of substation structures including dead-end structures and equipment supports.
• Structural design and analysis of transmission structures (lattice towers, monopoles, wood poles).
• Evaluate and retrofit existing lattice towers with reinforcement solutions.
• Prepare calculations, drawings, and specs per ASCE, AISC, ACI, IEEE, NESC.
• Model and analyze using PLS-TOWER, PLS-POLE, STAAD, or RISA.
• Design foundations using LPILE, MFAD, HFAD, TFAD with manual calcs.
• Review vendor calculations and drawings.
• Coordinate with fabrication and construction teams.
• Collaborate with civil, electrical, and geotechnical engineers for integrated design.
• Provide field support including site visits and inspections.
• Contribute to proposals and engineering deliverables as needed.
