Job summary

Pickett, an ESP Associates company, seeks a Civil/Structural Engineer for substation and transmission projects. You will design and analyze structures, coordinate with diverse teams, and provide field support to ensure safe, reliable deliverables.

Qualified candidates hold a Civil/Structural Engineering degree, PE license, and 4+ years of relevant experience, with proficiency in PLS-TOWER/PLS-POLE/STAAD/RISA and foundation tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering is required.
• PE license is required.
• Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in substation and/or transmission structural engineering.

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze substation structures including dead-end structures and supports.
• Analyze transmission structures such as lattice towers, monopoles, and wood poles.
• Evaluate existing lattice towers and develop reinforcement solutions.
• Prepare calculations, drawings, and specifications per ASCE/AISC/ACI/IEEE/NESC.
• Model structures with PLS-TOWER, PLS-POLE, STAAD, and RISA.
• Design foundations using LPILE, MFAD, HFAD, TFAD; support with Mathcad/Excel calculations.
• Review vendor drawings and coordinate with fabrication and construction teams.
• Collaborate with civil, electrical, and geotechnical engineers for integrated designs.
• Provide field support including site visits and inspections.
• Contribute to proposals and technical deliverables.
