Job summary

Pickett, an ESP Associates company, seeks a Civil/Structural Engineer to lead structural design and analysis for substation and transmission projects. You will prepare calculations, drawings, and specs, and collaborate across civil, electrical, and geotechnical teams.

Requires PE license, 4+ years in related engineering, and proficiency with industry tools. Hybrid work environment with site visits and field support included.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering is required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
• Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in substation and/or transmission structural engineering.
• Experience with lattice towers, monopoles, wood poles, and/or specialty structures.
• Proficiency with structural analysis software (PLS-TOWER, PLS-POLE, STAAD, RISA).
• Foundation design software (LPILE, MFAD, HFAD, TFAD) and Excel-based calculations.
• Familiarity with ASCE, AISC, ACI, NESC, IEEE standards.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Structural design and analysis of substation structures and transmission towers.
• Evaluate and retrofit existing lattice towers and develop reinforcement solutions.
• Prepare calculations, drawings, and specifications per ASCE/AISC/IEEE/NESC.
• Modeling with PLS-TOWER, PLS-POLE, STAAD or RISA; design foundations with LPILE, MFAD, HFAD, TFAD.
• Coordinate with fabrication, construction, and other engineering disciplines.
• Provide field support, site visits, and inspections as needed.
• Contribute to proposals and engineering deliverables.
