Job summary

Arcadis is seeking a highly experienced Senior Civil Engineer to join our Design Engineering team and lead complex civil and environmental projects across North America. This hybrid‑flexible role can be based in any Arcadis office in the Eastern US, with periodic travel for site visits and client meetings.

You will guide projects from feasibility through design, permitting, construction support, and closeout, focusing on large‑scale earthwork, drainage, and environmental restoration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum 8 years’ civil engineering experience.
• Proficiency with 3D civil site design using AutoCAD Civil 3D or similar.
• Proficiency with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software (HydroCAD, HEC-HMS, SWMM, or similar).

Responsibilities

• Lead civil engineering design efforts from proposal development and conceptual planning through final design and construction support.
• Serve as a technical lead and trusted advisor for project teams and clients.
• Oversee grading plans, drainage layouts, earthwork optimization, and quantity estimates.
• Provide technical guidance to design staff and review work for quality and constructability.
• Mentor, coach, and delegate work to junior and mid-level engineers.
• Support client engagement, scope definition, schedule planning, and budget management.
