Job summary

Amcor is seeking a seasoned Project Engineer to manage complex capital projects for PET preforms and containers. Lead cross-site initiatives from conception through qualification, safeguarding productivity, timing, and budget while supporting cost-reduction opportunities.

The role requires a mechanical/electrical engineering degree and extensive project management experience in plastics packaging, with strong leadership and analytical skills and a willingness to travel significantly.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
• Seven years of professional engineering experience in plastics packaging.
• Seven years of project management experience.
• Strong interpersonal, management and communication skills.
• Experience managing direct reports.
• Experience with plant layouts, infrastructure equipment and SPC.

Responsibilities

• Create bills of materials for new capital projects and support the capital appropriation process.
• Ensure safety and environmental requirements are included in scope and budget.
• Refine feasibility studies into action plans meeting cost and timing criteria.
• Review plant infrastructure, layout and equipment against project requirements.
• Analyze performance and cost of equipment, tooling, and workflows.
• Publish weekly status reports and address project issues.
• Maintain division-level technical specifications and documentation.
• Communicate with plants regularly on long-term project performance.
• Review CEAV requests for accuracy and compliance.
• Travel ~60%.
