Job summary

Amcor is seeking a seasoned project engineer to lead capital projects in PET preforms and container manufacturing. You will review product viability and manage multi-site programs from concept to qualification, ensuring productivity, timing, and budget alignment.

Travel about 60% and collaborate with plant managers, regional directors, and resources to drive cost reductions, safety, and scalable upgrades. A Bachelor's in mechanical or electrical engineering and 7+ years in plastics packaging

Qualifications

Bachelors degree in mechanical or electrical engineering required.
Minimum of seven years professional engineering experience in plastics packaging.
Seven years of project management experience and ability to manage multiple resources.

Responsibilities

Create and manage capital project bills of materials and support capital appropriation.
Ensure safety and environmental requirements are included in scope and budget.
Refine feasibility studies into actionable implementation plans meeting cost and timing goals.
Review plant infrastructure and equipment against project requirements; plan upgrades.
Evaluate performance and cost of new or existing equipment; analyze tooling and workflows.
Communicate and resolve technical, timing and budget issues; publish weekly status reports.
Develop and maintain division-level technical specs and standards for Operations Engineering.
Regularly communicate with plants to understand long-term project performance and resolve issues.
Travel ~60%.
