Job summary

Amcor is seeking an experienced engineer to manage complex capital projects for PET preforms and rigid containers, spanning multiple sites from conception to qualification. You’ll oversee productivity, timing, and budget, while supporting cost-reduction initiatives within manufacturing locations.

The role requires a mechanical or electrical engineering degree with 7+ years in plastics packaging and proven project management, with strong leadership and collaboration skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
• 7+ years professional engineering in plastics packaging.
• Experience managing multiple resources and complex projects.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Experience managing on-site manufacturing opportunities and projects.
• Experience with SPC.

Responsibilities

• Create bills of materials for new capital projects and support capital appropriation.
• Ensure corporate safety and environmental requirements are incorporated into project scope and budget.
• Refine feasibility studies into action plans with input from Directors and Plant resources.
• Review plant infrastructure, layout and equipment against project requirements and manage upgrades.
• Analyze performance and cost of new or existing equipment and tooling.
• Publish weekly project status reports and manage project communications.
• Create and maintain division-level technical specifications and documentation.
• Regularly communicate with plants to assess long-term project performance and resolve issues.
• Review CEAV requests for accuracy and standards compliance.
• Travel approximately 60%.
