Job summary

Amcor is seeking a capable engineer to manage complex capital projects in PET preform manufacturing and rigid containers. You will oversee projects from concept to qualification across multiple sites, focusing on productivity, timing, and budget while supporting cost-reduction efforts.

The role requires a mechanical or electrical engineering degree and at least seven years in plastics packaging with project management experience.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering is required.
• Minimum seven years of engineering experience in plastics packaging with proven PM skills.
• Ability to manage multiple resources and projects across sites.

Responsibilities

• Create bills of materials for new capital projects and support capital appropriation.
• Ensure safety and environmental requirements are included in scope and budget.
• Refine feasibility studies into actionable implementation plans per cost/timing targets.
• Review plant infrastructure and equipment against project requirements and plan upgrades.
• Evaluate performance and cost of equipment, tooling, workflow, and vendors.
• Communicate status, resolve issues, and publish weekly project reports.
• Develop division-level technical specs and documentation for Operations Engineering.
• Maintain regular plant communication to assess long-term project performance.
• Review CEAV requests for accuracy and compliance; travel ~60%.
