Job summary

Lincoln Property Company is seeking a Chief Engineer to lead the Engineering team and oversee building maintenance, safety, and efficiency at our New York properties. The role focuses on HVAC, energy management, contractor oversight, budgeting, and staff development to maintain high tenant satisfaction.

You will collaborate with tenants, vendors, and property managers, ensure compliance with codes and safety protocols, and be based 100% in-office with readiness to respond after hours as needed.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• At least ten years of industry-related experience.
• At least five years of supervisory, training, and mentoring experience.
• CFC Certification preferred or willingness to obtain; licenses required by local/state/national rules.
• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office, energy management software, CMMS.
• Ability to travel daily to assigned properties.
• Advanced knowledge of HVAC, BAS, fire protection, and life safety systems.
• Familiar with blueprints and code requirements.
• Proven ability to deliver excellent customer service and communicate with tenants/vendors/teams.
• Ability to work after hours and during emergencies as needed.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of building maintenance, including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing.
• Monitor building energy usage and ensure efficient operations.
• Oversee contractor work and tenant improvement projects.
• Prepare budgets; control inventory and purchasing.
• Supervise, train, and evaluate Engineering staff; develop performance goals.
• Collaborate with tenants, contractors, and property managers to ensure reliable operations.
• Work with vendors to identify scopes and ensure contract compliance.
• Conduct inspections and maintain logs for equipment and safety compliance.
• Enforce OSHA, NEC, NFPA safety standards; manage lockout/tagout programs.
• Communicate professionally with teammates, leadership, vendors, tenants, and client employees.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
