Job summary
Smart Tech Contracting is seeking a Building Automation Systems Field Technician III to install BAS/HVAC controls in the IAD region. You will wire field devices, support startup and commissioning, and coordinate with subcontractors to ensure on-time delivery.
The role requires collaboration with design engineers, construction teams and client staff, with opportunities for growth and professional development through safety, QA/QC, and documentation best practices.
Qualifications
- Associates degree or technical certificate in BAS or related field.
- Minimum of two years hands-on installation, testing, and troubleshooting of controls.
- Two additional years of related experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Install BAS/HVAC controllers and field devices; wire low voltage cables.
- Support startup, commissioning and closeout of BAS projects.
- Coordinate activities with subcontractors and vendors on site.
- Provide project updates, document issues and assist in RFIs.
- Assist with engineering surveys, takeoffs and proposals when needed.
- Ensure safety and quality during site activities.
