Job summary

Smart Tech Contracting is seeking a Building Automation Systems Field Technician III to install BAS/HVAC controls, wire field devices, and coordinate startup activities at client sites in the Washington D.C. metro area.

You will work with design engineers, vendors, and client staff to support operation, testing and commissioning of automation systems, while communicating progress and issues with project teams. Travel within the region is required.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or Technical Certificate in Building Automation Systems, Mechanical/Electrical Technology, or a closely related field.
• Two years of hands-on installation, testing, validation and troubleshooting of controls infrastructure.
• Minimum two years of additional experience with installation, testing, validation and troubleshooting of controls infrastructure.
• Travel locally within the home market as required.

Responsibilities

• Install and wire BAS controllers and field devices.
• Support start-up and cutovers of panels and systems.
• Coordinate activities with subcontractors, vendors and trades.
• Develop or assist in developing Methods of Procedure (MOPs).
• Perform troubleshooting and QA/QC of BAS and integrated systems.
• Document and track issues and closeout duties.
