Job summary
Smart Tech Contracting LLC is seeking a Field Technician II – Building Automation to support installation, startup and commissioning of BAS/HVAC controls systems across multiple project sites within the IAD region. The role emphasizes learning through hands-on work on building automation projects in industrial, commercial and mission-critical environments.
Ideal candidates have an associates degree or technical certificate in related fields, plus hands-on controls experience.
Qualifications
- Associates degree or Technical Certificate in Building Automation Systems, Mechanical/Electrical Technology, or closely related field.
- Two years of hands-on installation, testing, validation and troubleshooting of controls infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Observe and assist with installing and wiring BAS controllers and field devices.
- Observe and assist with installation and termination of low voltage cables.
- Observe start-up and cutovers of panels and systems.
- Assist in developing Methods of Procedure (MOPs) for site activities.
- Assist with pre-functional and functional testing.
- Learn to troubleshoot BAS systems and perform corrective actions.
- Learn to analyze system operation and verify it matches the contracted scope of work.
- Assist with QAQC of BAS and integrated systems using BAS software tools.
