Job summary

HDR is seeking a Senior Bridge Technical Director for HDR’s Transportation Business Group. You will lead our major bridges program, provide strategic and hands-on technical direction, and mentor junior engineers across a global landscape.

The role emphasizes strong leadership in design delivery, QA/QC, and collaboration with marketing and production teams. You will oversee staff in North America, Canada and Australia, travel as needed, and help shape HDR’s bridge design capabilities while

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in structural engineering or equivalent.
• Professional Engineer license (PE or P.Eng) with SE preferred and reciprocity via NCEES.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, directing and monitoring large, multidisciplinary bridge projects.
• Provide technical oversight and coordinate cross-team efforts.
• Deliver design leadership for bridge design and production with project teams.
• Perform complex structural analysis for long-span bridges including various bridge types.
• Build and maintain client relationships and support business development.
• Coordinate design sessions with Project Managers and disciplines on-site.
