Job summary

HDR, a leader in transportation infrastructure, seeks a Major Bridge Technical Director to steer HDR’s major bridge program within the Transportation Business Group. You will champion technical leadership, oversee design teams, and advance complex long-span projects across sites.

Travel across North America and beyond supports client relationships and project milestones. You’ll mentor staff, drive QA/QC, and help grow HDR’s bridge portfolio with innovative, sustainable solutions.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Structural Engineering and PE/Eng license; SE preferred.
• 10+ years bridge project experience with large-scale delivery.
• Experience leading design teams on major bridges (incl. cable-stayed).

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, directing, and monitoring major bridge projects.
• Provide technical oversight and cross-team coordination.
• Deliver leadership for bridge design and production with design teams.
• Perform complex structural planning and long-span bridge design.
• Mentor junior engineers and develop staff.
