Job summary

HDR is seeking an experienced Major Bridge Technical Director to lead HDR’s Bridges and Structures program within the Transportation Business Group. You will champion technical leadership for major bridge projects, coordinate across design teams, and mentor junior engineers while advancing HDR’s high standards of practice.

The role emphasizes strategic marketing, client relationships, and staff development across North America, with travel as needed to project milestones and kickoffs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in structural engineering or related field.
• Professional engineering license (PE) recognized in location.

Responsibilities

• Champion leadership in planning, directing, and monitoring large, complex bridge projects.
• Provide proactive technical oversight and cross-team coordination.
• Deliver technical leadership for bridge design and production efforts with design teams.
• Perform complex structural planning and design for long-span bridges.
• Oversee QA/QC procedures and reviews of bridge plans.
