HDR’s Transportation Business Group seeks a Major Bridge Technical Director to lead HDR's major bridges program. You will provide strategic technical direction, staff leadership, and hands-on oversight across project development and delivery to ensure HDR standards are applied across the portfolio.

We seek a proven leader with deep bridge design experience, strong client relationships, and ability to mentor engineers while driving innovative solutions for long-span structures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree is required and PE license is expected.
• Experience leading large bridge projects and teams.
• Proven ability to deliver long-span bridge design projects.
• Experience with design-build or P3 delivery methods.
• Strong communication and leadership for a distributed team.
• Familiarity with industry-standard bridge software.

Responsibilities

• Champion leadership in planning and directing large bridge projects.
• Provide technical oversight and cross-team coordination.
• Lead design and production efforts for long-span bridges.
• Perform complex structural analysis for suspension, cable-stayed, arch and segmental bridges.
• Cultivate client relationships and support marketing and proposals.
• Mentor junior engineers and supervise staff on site and office.
