Job summary

Foundation AI is seeking a Lead Business Development Representative in New York to drive outbound prospecting, qualify opportunities, and hand off qualified deals to the sales team. You will help build and lead a BDR function over time, while hitting aggressive lead and pipeline targets.

You will start as an IC, then have the opportunity to recruit and mentor additional BDRs to scale outbound efforts across our growing organization.

Qualifications

• This role requires experience in sales or business development, preferably in a customer-facing setting.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
• Ability to build rapport and engage with prospects effectively.
• Excellent organization and time management capabilities.
• Comfort with targets and consistent follow-up.
• Willingness to learn and adapt based on feedback.

Responsibilities

• Reach out to prospects through outbound communication to generate interest.
• Qualify leads to determine fit and readiness for the next stage of the sales process.
• Hand off qualified opportunities to the appropriate sales colleagues.
• Keep accurate records of prospect interactions and progress in HubSpot
• Share customer insights and feedback with the wider team.
• Work toward agreed targets for lead generation and opportunity creation.
• Once targets are hit, hire and train other BDRs to grow this function
